Smashbox is a brand I've heard so much about, but never got to try them out for myself. That was until one of their most recent releases, the #ShapeMatters palette. Boots had an introductory deal at £30 for the first week of release when the RRP is £60 so I would have been silly to not buy it.

What this palette has to offer:
• 9 Stunning Eye Shadows
(Vanilla, Totally Nude, Champagne, Stripped, Posh, Platinum, Sumatra, Aubergine & Blackout)
• 3 Contour Shades
• Shimmer Highlight
• 2 Brow Powders
• Brow wax
• Eye Shadow / Brow Brush
• Mirror

This palette offers so much more than any other palette that I've ever owned before. All my other palettes are usually orientated solely on one area of the face, whereas this palette focus' on pretty much the entire face. Which I love, and it has quickly become a bit of a handbag favourite instead of dragging around the usual makeup bag.

As an eyeshadow lover I was instantly drawn to the eyeshadow choice in the palette (as it's definitely important). I've been using 'Platinum' an awful lot over my eyelids, so much so that it is close to hitting pan already... I have been loving metallic eye shadows lately! The shades are very versatile, and would suit most regardless of their skin tone. The shadows are a tad powdery and make the palette a little messy, but they go on the eyelid evenly and have amazing pigmentation. They're also very long lasting, even though I keep the palette in my handbag I've rarely had to top up my eyeshadow throughout the day.

Another aspect of makeup I love is contouring. Contouring has been around for quite a while now, and it's clear to see why, as I know that I love giving my face a bit more definition. But let's be honest, who wouldn't!? The shades go with my skintone really nicely, not just making my face look dirty. I had actually been eyeing up Smashbox's Step by Step Contour Kit before hearing about the release of the #shapematters palette, but at that being £35 and this palette being £30 on a Boots offer, I obviously went with the latter.

The two brow powders are in 'taupe' and 'soft brown'. I only use soft brown out of the two, as it's the darkest one of the two, leaving taupe a bit obsolete which is a shame. There is also a wax, which helps tame brow hairs neatly together, it also has a little lid to prevent it from getting dirty which I think is a cute idea.

Honestly I have fallen in love this palette, it has definitely become my go-to palette of the moment, as it's great for travelling, or even for makeup newbies due to the amount of product it has to offer... But, my only downfall has to be the shade variation. I think it should have been released in 'fair', 'medium' and 'dark' options to cater for everyone.
